The Chevish Beanie is worked in the round. The beanie is first knitted with the brim in the main color using smaller needles. The body and crown are worked using larger needles and is illustrated in the chart.

Knitting colorwork creates a tighter tension and requires the knitter to go up 1 or 2 needle sizes to meet their stockinette gauge. Also, everyone’s knitting styles are different. Therefore, your knitting tension may vary (significantly) from mine. It is helpful to make a gauge swatch so you know if you need to go up or down a needle size.
