Shawlette
Approximately 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. The shawl pictured was knit with one 120-gram 390-yard skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Sock, with 18 grams left over.

The unblocked shawl measures 40” across the top and 20” down the center back. Blocked it measures 60” across and 28” down the center back. These measurements are approximate because they depend on how severely you block your piece.

Stole
Approximately 800 yards of fingering weight yarn. The shawl pictured was knit with two 120-gram 390-yard skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Sock, with 14 grams left over.

The unblocked stole measures 22” in width and 50” long. Blocked it measures 26” in width and 66” long. These measurements are approximate because they depend on how severely you block your piece.

5/11/11 -- errata: An error in the pattern was pointed out to me by a knitter: at the top of page 5 (in the directions for the Stole) delete the last sentence of the first paragraph that reads: “When you complete Chart A, start Chart B.” You end the stole with Chart A, and then knit the border.

The pattern has been corrected. My apologies for the error!
