This is a pattern for a cute, quick, and easy pokemon-- Mew.

He’s part of my expanding collection of chibi pokemon designs.

Using the recommended yarn and hook he will be about 3 1/2 to 4 inches tall, and consistent in size with my other pokemon amigurumi.

You’ll need a relatively small amount (not more than 40g) of an fairly light pink yarn, a 4mm crochet hook, some stuffing, plastic eyes (10mm is good), and a yarn needle.

Mew is a cute and tricky character that took me a while to perfect, but I’m quite pleased with the result. One fun point for Mew is that he’s a rare ‘one color’ pokemon, so you don’t need to worry about a lot of color matching-- if you find the right pink (or blue, if it’s a shiny) you’re good to go! Do note that the tail can be made as long as you want it. Mine might have been a little conservative, what do you think? Also, I think the black plastic eyes work well as long as they’re pretty big in proportion to the head, but Mew’s actual eyes are very big and blue, so painted felt would be another good option.

I hope you enjoy!
