Beautiful blankets for children are always the right gift. No matter what the occasion - birthday or Christmas - they are always a very personal and loving gift. With a blanket you can cover yourself, sit on it or play with it. You can make the blanket in any size you want, because it is made of individual parts that are crocheted together at the end.

You can crochet the blanket in your favorite yarn qualities (merino, acrylic, cotton, etc.) or from yarn scraps. If you then take into account the child’s favorite colors and combine them harmoniously, it could become the perfect new favorite blanket.

It is easy to make even by crochet beginners, because I explain and show everything very precisely and step by step. However, we must already have diligence and perseverance. First we crochet a lot of equal squares, which we crochet together at the end. As a decorative finish we crochet a one-color relief border. Finished is a beautiful new blanket for the child, grandchild or for yourself.

We crochet chain stitches, single crochets, double crochets, front post double crochet , back post double crochet and slip stitches. Sizes
My blanket measures 39 x 39 inches. Other sizes are possible - depending on the yarn used and personal crochet style. In general, you can make the blanket larger or smaller, but crochet more or less squares. You can find more details in the instructions.

What you need for material
For this blanket you may choose the yarn according to your preferences. Note that all yarns used must have the same quality / care instructions and run length, or the stitch test with different yarns comes to the same result. So you can also use your scraps. To do this, choose the appropriate crochet hook. In the tutorial I give you yarn suggestions and explain everything in more detail. My blanket I have crocheted from colored scraps and with crochet hook size 3mm (UK size: 2,5; US size: 11).
