This is a hooded cape for children’s playtime or just snuggling on the couch. The suggested yarn is soft to the touch, so it could even be used as a bathrobe. When the knitting is complete, decorate to your heart’s content!

Add a separating zipper using back-stitch and heavy button thread. Back it with a simple chain of soft yarn so that the edges of the zipper aren’t scratchy.

For the curly mane elements, use a 10mm crochet hook and a fluffy yarn like Red Heart Buttercup or Bernat Pipsqueak. Chain a bit longer than the desired length, then 3sc in each chain. Leave a tail to fasten the top end to the hood.
