A child’s sweater from this 1912 pamphlet featuring a garter stitch main body, ribbed color and bottom edge, and a stranded contrast color clover pattern across the chest and at the end of the sleeves.

Sweater is worked flat and seamed, then flat sleeves seamed and attached to body.

“The model is worked in blue and white and fits a child of about eight years.”

Materials as cited:

  • 10 ounces three-ply wool in main color
  • 1 skein of contrasting color
  • two long bone needles, “No. 6 or 7” (note that this is likely vintage needle sizing)
