There is a great tutorial for the I-cord bindoff here. Thank you Heather!

Designed for my Alaska cruise teaching adventure this past June, the Chilkat cowl is a lace skill builder with jogless stripes and a knitted on edging. Because it’s lacy, the cowl is extra long so that the folds of knitting will trap air and keep your neck warm. The top can also be pulled up over your head with plenty to spare for your shoulders! Worked in the round using Road to China Light, it’s like wearing a big hug.

Pattern contains both written and charted instructions. The charts are designed to be used with the written instructions and are also fully written out. This cowl can be resized by increasing or decreasing stitch count in groups of 8.
