Chinese Lantern
This Chinese Lantern crochet pattern uses basic stitches that a confident beginner can handle. Each inflated calyx, or lantern, is made with 10 short rows. Gauge is not important for this pattern, but you should crochet tightly enough so the fiberfill does not show through the stitches.
For the fullest, most natural-looking arrangement, make several leaves and lanterns. The display looks better when it has a bushier shape. To create a lush Chinese Lantern arrangement, plan on using 2 balls of Turmeric and 3 balls of Hunter Green.
In addition to crochet thread, you will also need cloth stem wire and tarnish-resistant wire. The required wire gauges are listed in the pattern under the “Other” materials section.
