Knit up a crazy colourful caterpillar.

The caterpillar is made by knitting spheres and sewing them together, and is a great pattern for using up odds and ends of yarn. You could make a longer caterpillar by knitting more spheres if you wish.

THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the caterpillar, photos, a list of abbreviations and materials. The pattern is 2 pages and written in English.

TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles, although you could easily convert it to knit in the round if you prefer.

  • A pair of straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
  • Double knitting yarn (DK or light worsted weight)
  • Small buttons for eyes
