My next published pattern is this hat inspired by the videogame “Life is strange”. I have written a post about this game on my Substack - link to the post is here:

The hat is knitted from one end to the other to be folded double. You start with the color that’s behind the lace pattern at the top of the hat. The lace pattern is inspired by one of the edging laces in the book “250 Japnese Knitting Stitches” av Hitomi Shida. This lace pattern reminded me of butterfly wings and I therefore chose it. I left parts of the design without any lace as a break in the structure, and really liked the look of the columns it creates.

Techniques used in the pattern:

• Cast on around a ring of yarn
• Increase left and right
• Decrease left and right
• Lace with decrease left and right and yarn over

The keys in the chart are explained next to the chart.

The hat comes in one size with measures to follow for a folded brim or a brim without the fold. If you want other length measures than the ones recommended you have to add or extract cm/inch from the stockinette part. It you want other measures in width I recommend changing the gauge.

Measures
Width measured flat: 25 cm/ 9.8 ‘’
Height when folded: 22,5 cm/ 8.9 ‘’
