The Chordata hat is knitted from three separate modules for the band, a ribbing section and two lace sections that meet in the middle and are then woven/grafted. The stitches are picked up and knitted, so there is no seaming in the entire hat.

The body of the hat is partially picked up from the band and knitted in the round. The lace band forms two little tabs or flaps to cover the ears. It can be knitted slouchy as pictured, or more fitted.

Fits the Chordata cuffs, both patterns are also offered together in an eBook!

Lace motif is charted. Difficulty level intermediate to experienced.
