This is a pattern for a Christmas Angel with fairy wings. She can be made using up your left over double knit yarn. She is about 5 inches/12 cm tall and is very cute. She could be a Christmas decoration, on a shelf or on the Christmas Tree. Sew some ribbon to her back or attach some floristry wire if you want to tie her to the top of your Christmas tree. She would also make a lovely gift. She is great fun to make and only takes about two/three hours.

There are detailed instructions of how to make her, with photographs and tips. The pattern includes both UK and US terms. The UK terms come first and then the whole pattern is repeated with US terms, so please be aware if you print off the pattern that you should only print the pages you want so as not to waste your paper and ink.

Her skirt is made using loop stitch, which is much easier than it looks and I have included photos and detailed instructions on this stitch. Please do not be worried about trying this stitch as you will be surprised at how quickly you can learn to make it and it is very effective.

You can use any double knit yarn. For example, one of my Angels is made using a quite fluffy yarn and the other using a sparkly yarn. You can use tinsel effect yarn for trimming her if you wish, although she looks just as good without this. King Cole do a lot of lovely sparkly and tinsel effect yarns, but it is a good idea to use up scraps of yarn you already have. Also use any old beads, buttons or small decorations to make your angel unique.
