About the Knitting Pattern
This festive hat features a cute gnome wearing a Santa suit and hat and is topped with a large pompom. Designed for children aged 1 to 11 years and knitted using double knitting (DK) wool, this bobble hat makes a joyful addition to any winter wardrobe. The pattern is written in English and supplied as a digital download PDF.

Design Details
The hat is knitted flat on straight needles. The gnome motif is worked from a chart using the intarsia method, with the gnome’s bobble nose knitted separately and sewn on. Once complete, simply sew the back seam and add a large pompom to the top and a smaller one to the end of the gnome’s hat.

Sizes
Instructions include six sizes:
•  1–2 years
• 2–3 years
• 4–5 years
• 6–7 years
• 8–9 years
• 10–11 years

Skill Level
Intermediate. Written instructions are provided, and experience working from a chart for the motif is recommended.

Yarn
Uses double knitting (DK) wool. Alternative yarns: USA light worsted / Australian 8 ply. Shown knitted in Stylecraft Special DK shades:
• Blue (Empire 1829)
• White (1001)
• Red (Lipstick 1246)
• Black (1002)
• Mushroom (1832)

Needles
3.25 mm and 4.0 mm straight needles (USA 3 and 6)

Other Requirements
A crochet hook (optional) to help pull yarn through when making small pompom.
