You can knit a whole set of pocket-sized Christmas treats with this pattern set, perfect for learning new stitches or making quick items for Christmas craft stalls or gifts.

The patterns take you step-by-step through knitting and making up a cute snowman in a scarf and hat, a red-nosed reindeer and a mini forest of Christmas trees. Everything is knitted flat (so there is no working in the round) and it is suitable for knitters with just a little experience. The trees pattern teaches you how to knit texture to make a lovely ‘bobbly’ effect and they can be knitted with or without ‘snow’ on the top.

You’ll need Chunky and Dk yarn in the colours of your choice. You’ll only need small amounts for each decoration and they all use the same colours so you can make lots from each ball. Feel free to substitute any yarns you like of the same thickness for your knitting!

We used:
Stylecraft Special Chunky in colours 1822 (Pistachio), in 422 (Aspen) and in 1711 (Spice)
Rowan Purewool Superwash Worsted in colour 133 (Gold) for the antlers and nose patch (but you can use any Dk yarn you like for this- Cygnet DK in colour 4884 Barley would also work well, for example)
You’ll also need:

• 4.5mm and 3mm straight knitting needles
• Toy stuffing
• Darning needle
• A pair of 6mm black toy safety eyes with click on backs for each snowman and reindeer you make (or you can embroider the eyes)
• Sharp sewing needle
• Red felt
• White and black cotton
