A beautiful fair isle Christmas stocking that can be personalized for everyone on your Christmas list. The PDF pattern includes step-by-step instructions for the entire stocking, colour charts for the pattern along the ‘leg’ of the stocking, and alphabet charts to help you add a custom name at the top.

This stocking pattern uses the same method as a top-down sock with heel flap (except no grafting for the toe), so if you understand how to knit a sock, this pattern will be easy for you. Instructions are for knit in the round to create a beautiful seamless stocking.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Required Skills: Knitting in the round on circular and double pointed needles, colour strand work with 3 colours, following a knitting chart

Finished size: 13” / 34 cm circumference at cuff, 18” / 45cm from top of cuff to bottom of foot, 10.5” / 27cm from back of heel to tip of toe

Yarn: worsted weight, such as Loops & Threads Impeccable
Colour A - Deep Forest, approximately 85m / 40g
Colour B - Bordeaux, approximately 85m / 40g
Colour C - Cloud, approximately 125m / 60g
Needles:
4 mm 16” circular needles
4 mm double pointed needles (dpn’s)
Or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle
Cotton fabric for lining, approximately 112cm x 32cm / 24” x 12.5”
Sewing needle and thread
Additional yarn / fabric to make a loop for hanging
