The stocking Christmas tree decoration takes very little yarn.

The size depends on the weight of your yarn. In sport weight yarn, hook 3 mm, the stocking will be about 10 cm (4 in) high. You can stiffen the ornaments using either a mixture of white glue and water or sugar and water. If you use glue, you can dust the stocking with fine glitter before they are dry.

I have made these for friends to attach to Christmas cards. After you learn the pattern by heart it goes fast to make lots of these.
