If you want to increase the size for a wider leg, I would suggest any adjustments in size should be made by going either a needle size up.
It is quite easy to increase the length of the foot by knitting several more rows of the suggested charts.

Yarn : Sock wool in 4 ply (Fingering). The amount of yarn depends not only on the size, but also on the color with which you want to knit a cuff, heel and toe.
For the knee high: about 510 m, or 2 skeins of MC and 2 skeins of CC.
For mid-calf approximately 420 m of two colors, or 2 skeins of MC 1 or 2 skeins of CC. When choosing the patterns and color distribution, decide how many balls of CS you need.
For the crew: about 300 m, or 2 skeins of MC and 1 skein of CC.
