While this small Christmas tree pattern was designed to fit in a clear plastic ball ornament resembling a snow globe, it could contribute to your holiday decorations in many ways: inside the transparent shell as a round ornament hanging from the real tree; without the globe, using the upside down bowl as platform; or as a standing or hanging ornament on its own without the white base.

Size
The tree is about 7.5 cm / 3” tall (without the base) if made with DK yarn, and the bowl is about 8.5 cm / a little under 3.5” diameter and 2.5 cm / 1” tall.

Tools and materials
~ DK (or worsted weight) yarn in medium green, white, dark green, light green and gold
~ 3mm (approx. US size C) hook if using DK yarn; or size that gives you a tight, no-gaps fabric
~ clear fillable plastic ornament, 10 or 12 cm (4” or 4.7”) for DK weight yarn
~ fiberfill stuffing
~ transparent double sided adhesive tape (or glue) to stick the tree to the ball
~ beads, sequins, buttons, gold cord, mini pompoms etc. to decorate the tree, as well as sewing thread and needle (or glue) to attach these
~ stitch marker, pair of scissors, pair of tweezers, yarn needle
~ optionally, a wire cutter (to cut off the ball’s loop)

Difficulty
This pattern is suitable for intermediate level crocheters who are confident with basic stitches and frequently used amigurumi techniques (ch, sl st, sc, dc, magic ring, working in BLO/FLO).
The colorful design on the snow globe stand is created with spike stitches (which are just fancy single crochet) - it is much simpler than it looks, and requires no color changes within the round.

The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology (UK/Aus equivalents provided). It contains many in-progress photos, but also includes a text-only appendix for easy printing, if you prefer working from a printed pattern but want to save ink and paper.

Finished items made from this pattern are yours to keep or gift or sell, I only ask you to credit me as the designer in case you decide to sell them.
