This stitch pattern has quickly become one of my favorites and appears in several of my recent designs. It really shines when paired with variegated yarn alongside a solid color, letting the vibrant hues pop beautifully. For the Chromapin Shawl, I combined this stitch with a delicate lace pattern to create a soft, flowing texture that highlights both the intricate stitch details and the shawl’s airy elegance.

Finished Size:
After gentle steam blocking, the shawl measures approximately 125 cm (49¼“) long and 57 cm (22½”) wide — the perfect wrap for all seasons.

Needles & Accessories:

3.5 mm (US 4) circular or straight needles, according to your preference

Stitch markers (optional)

Tapestry needle for finishing

Fingering weight yarn (about 420 m / 459 yds per 100 g skein)

Main Color (Black): approx. 178 g (747 m / 816 yds)

Secondary Color (Variegated): approx. 62 g (260 m / 284 yds)
