9.0mm M crochet hook
Tapestry needle and scissors
One skein of super bulky yarn (I used Big Twist Natural Blend)

This pattern is really great for beginners because you only need to know two stitches! By crocheting in the back loop only, it creates the ribbed effect for a little bit of texture. These headbands work up very quickly and you should be able to make 2-3 per skein, so they are wonderful for gifts or selling.
