When I first saw knitted brioche I fell in love. But I’m not much of a knitter and I wanted to do something, so I needed to figure out a crochet version and the Chunky Crochet Brioche Cowl was born!

I’ve used a bulky yarn for this project, with a wool and acrylic blend. The wool brings the warmth, and the acrylic brings the softness. It’s great combination, you won’t be cold in this cowl, I promise!

if you use my recommended yarn, Scheepjes Vinci, you will only need one ball of each colour, making this a terrifically economical design with almost no wastage. I had enough left over to not be able to create one more row, so depending on your own gauge (which isn’t really important for this design), you’ll have more or less left over. I’d recommend trying to add one final row if you have enough.

If you’re feeling in a brioche kind of mood, check out my Brioche Beanie as well - it’s also a free design.

Don’t forget to share your projects with me here and on social media so I can see.

Enjoy!
