I love Graphgrams, and here I add a simple repeating chain image to the front of a classic round neck mesh t-shirt. With instructions on altering the number of stripes, you can create a look and colour choice that is personal to you. And as the design is made in panels, you’ll see that it is easy to personalise the t-shirt further.

You will get one version of the pattern which includes two ways of making the chain design. The first is a colour chart and the second is written instructions. Use one, or both to make this a simple project. I then include details on converting the picture into a mesh t-shirt with numerous sizing options to help you create something that looks great.

The design is made using 4ply cotton (category 2, sock yarn) to keep the garment light. I suggest a larger than recommended hook to keep the stitches loose and flexible. There is a lot of stretch in the finished item, so the sizing is only approximate. I have listed this pattern as “intermediate” because of shaping and pattern techniques.
