Chunky Farmhouse Pumpkin Trio
For me, autumn is the absolute best season of the year, and one of my favorite annual fall traditions is adding a few new crocheted pumpkins to my ever-growing collection.
This year’s trio of pumpkins is all about that cozy farmhouse look. They are best constructed using chunky weight yarn and they showcase a few of my favorite super-textured stitches. The results are as wonderful to feel in your hands as they are to look at, and they make a beautiful addition to any autumn décor.
The pattern includes instructions for creating three different crochet pumpkins. For this project, I prefer to use a chunky or super bulky weight yarn. I used Yarn Bee Breathe Deep Super Bulky yarn in the colors “Stone Blue,” “Coconut,” and “Sage,” along with an 8.0mm crochet hook.
I used approximately 188 yds for the Basket Weave Pumpkin, 300 yds for the Bobble Stitch Pumpkin, and 116 yds for the Lemon Peel Pumpkin. However, you can achieve beautiful results with virtually any weight of yarn and corresponding hook size.
The pumpkin stems and vines are crocheted using a 4.0mm crochet hook and 1.5mm jute twine for an added touch of rustic charm, but you may substitute brown or green yarn as well.
