A lacy scarf knit in chunky yarn, which makes it a fast knit. It can be adjusted to be larger or longer, and it can be knit in other colours. It uses the traditional Old Shale stitch.

Materials needed:

2 (100 g) balls of Bernat Softee Chunky solids or one 400g ball which will make more than one scarf

US size 13 straight needles

darning needle

The pattern would also work for Softee Chunky Ombre, but if you are using the 80 gram balls, it will probably need 3.

In wine red or eucalyptus green it makes a great Christmas scarf. It is a good way to learn this Old Shale stitch, which can be used for shawls and blankets.
