SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate

This sling is crocheted with 2 strands of yarn together. It has a “bowl” like shape to hold the baby and has an open chunky stitch, allowing baby’s little toes to poke through.

Instructions for an optional strap are included. The strap can be used to wrap around the baby to help keep it secure in the sling, or to rest its arms.

This pattern requires the large Q(15mm) size hook. It takes a while to get used to using the big hook, but the sling works up quite quickly and should only take about 2 hours to make. Some knowledge of crochet is required, but explanations of all the stitches used are included. I categorized this pattern as Intermediate because there is some decreasing involved.

DO NOT LEAVE BABY UNATTENDED WHILE IN SLING. To be used for photography only and is not intended to be used as a baby carrier. Always have a “spotter” near the baby, use with caution.

Thank you to Colleen Dustin and Nicole Everson for the beautiful newborn images.
