Chunky Knit Cowl Pattern - Knitted Cape Design

This knitting pattern is for a chunky knit cape - cowl that is knit in the round using circular knitting needles. The needle size is US 15 and US 13, 29 inch long circular. There is no seaming in this pattern as it is knit in the round. You will need to know how to join in the round to knit this cape - cowl.

The yarn used in the pattern is from Michael’s - Loops & Threads, Country Loom yarn. Any super bulky #6 weight yarns can be used - you will need approximately 200 yards or 2 skeins of the Country Loom yarn.

The button part of the cape is optional. If you just want a thick chunky cowl you could leave the button off. The button gives you more options for wearing as a cape or a cowl.

The pattern is offered in one size - it measures 35 inches around at the upper, button, edge and 44 inches at the lower edge and is 15 inches wide. There are directions in the pattern for how to increase or decrease the stitch count to create a larger or smaller cape. The pattern has been tested in the one size only.

The stitch used for this pattern is reversible meaning it looks the same on both sides. The stitch pattern is a 2 round repeat and you will need to know how to knit and purl.

You may sell any finished items made from this pattern.
