This is a pattern for a chunky Santa stocking hat. This pattern is beginner level and requires experience with basic crochet stitches, including decreasing stitches together (special instructions are provided for the method used in this pattern). The chainless starting double crochet is also used.

The stocking hat is worked from the bottom up, beginning with a headband in white and then the red rows worked in the round.

The featured item fits an adult size large 22” inch head circumference. Instructions for adjusting the size for a custom fit are included.

Lion Brand Homespun Yarn is used as follows with a 9mm hook:

--2 full skeins (160 yards) of Cincinnati Red
--1/2 skein (40 yards) of New York White.
