Okay, if one’s going to knit a pattern one’s written, one should FOLLOW the pattern.

But then, I didn’t have the written pattern in front of me -- just the charted portion.

So what did I do? I cast on and IMMEDIATELY started knitting the charted portion, without knitting the ribbed headband.

When I was finished with the hat, I REALLY liked the design, so have re-written Chutes & Ladders, and am offering this as a variation.

The hats that I knit will all get donated to a local chemo center. What you do with them is up to you -- I only ask that you don’t make them for sale.
