Description from Knitty.com:
I have to credit my husband with the design idea for these gloves. One chilly evening, he was outside trying to smoke a cigar, but just complained about his cold hands instead. As a knitter, I could not stand idly by while someone I love had cold hands. I had just the thing; fingerless gloves. I was practically casting on before we got in the door, when my husband said, “I really only need three fingers to smoke, why should my other fingers have to suffer?” The cigar gloves were born. My husband now realizes that he uses only his first three fingers 90% of the time and has found the gloves very useful as everyday, around-town gloves.
