Size: Sizes are approximate, the size of your scarf/shawl can be adapted to suit the amount of yarn you have. Approximate sizes are given below:

• Short and wide necktie scarf: 34” / 86 cm long & 6” / 16 cm wide
• Long and thin necktie scarf: 40” / 102 cm long & 4” / 10 cm wide
• Triangular shawl: 60” / 150cm wide & 23” / 60cm deep
• Large long scarf: 70” / 175cm long & 11” / 30cm wide

Needles: 5 mm

Gauge: not particularly important, so there is no need to swatch, should be around 20-22 sts per 4” / 10 cm

Yarn: DK weight yarn or fingering weight held with mohair; samples knit in:

• Gepard eco cashmere vintage (150m/50g)
• Garthenor Beacons (135m/50g)
• Laxtons BFL/Masham DK (240m/100g)

Yardage:

• Neckties: At least 50g / 150m / 165 yards of DK weight or at least 150m / 165 yards of each strand if yarn is held double.
• Triangular shawl & long scarf: At least 200g / 600m / 660 yards of DK weight or at least 600m / 660 yards of each strand if yarn in held double.

Sample information:

• The red short and wide necktie is knit in a single strand of Gepard eco cashmere vintage (150m/50g) and used 150m / 50g.
• The white long and thin necktie is knit in a single strand of Garthenor Beacons (135m/50g) and used 108m / 40g.
• The grey scarf is knit in a single strange of Laxtons BFL/Masham DK (240m/100g) and used 480m / 200g.
