This is a fairly simple pattern, knit in two gauges. It has a very loose, flowy fit in the chest and body with fitted sleeve cuffs and waistband. A long yoke gives the sweater “batwing” like sleeves that give the overall look a very casual, pullover vibe.

This is a pattern for anyone, including beginner knitters! There are very few skills you need for this sweater, so as long as you can keep a fairly even gauge, this will be a relaxing project. The majority of the sweater is knit in the round to create a stockinette stitch, and the edges will be embellished with some ribbing (knit 1, purl 1). The trickiest part of this sweater is the ribbed sleeve cuffs and waistband where you will be knitting in a very small gauge with a size 0 needle. If you are not already comfortable knitting with small needles, be sure to make a larger swatch for more practice!

There is also a lot of room for customization. If you follow the pattern precisely, you will get a pullover sweater that is slightly shorter than average, pairing nicely with high waisted jeans. If that’s not your style, you can knit it to any length.
