Claire Sweater features a fitted silhouette with a beautifully textured front yoke and crew neckline. Extra stitches are cast on at the hems and decreased away above the ribbing to ensure a forgiving fit over the hips.  The back and sleeves are knit mostly in stockinette to help the knitting go quickly, and the little bit of yoke detailing adds a bit of interest at the end! Choose from 3/4 or long sleeves to create your perfect sweater.

This pattern assumes knowledge of basic cables, increasing, and decreasing. Both written and charted instructions are included for the yoke section, so you can use your preferred method. Detailed schematics and measurement tables are included as well.

Suggested Yarn: Harrisville Designs Highland Worsted, or other worsted weight yarn that knits to gauge

Sizes: 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60)” / 81.5 (91.5, 101.5, 112, 122, 132, 142, 152.5) cm

Sample garment shown is knit in size 36”, with 2” of negative ease at the full bust. To achieve a similar look, choose a size that’s between 2” smaller and 2” larger than your actual bust measurement. If you’re not quite sure what size to make, find a fitted sweater that’s worked up in a medium weight yarn in mostly stockinette. It can be handmade or a commercially made sweater - just something that you feel good wearing! Measure the bust of this garment about 1” below the armhole, and double this measurement to get the circumference. Choose a size that has a bust measurement that’s similar to the sweater you like!
