I designed this Claire’s Rent Shawl to be a replica of the Shawl as worn by the character Claire of the TV show “Outlander”. It is a lovely triangle shawl with striped color work using Intarsia.

The shawl comes in one average size, but also includes info on how to size up and down several sizes if needed.

The shawl is knit on US size 9 straight needles, circular or interchangeable circular needles.

You’ll need: 6-7 balls of a worsted weight wool or wool blend yarn such as Knit Picks Wool of the Andes (Total yardage approx 700-800 yds) if you make the pattern in the written size. (If you size up or down, you could need more or less yarn). You will need 3 balls of Main Color, 2 balls of Color A (outer stripe) and 1-2 balls of Color B (inner stripe) for pattern as written. (If you size up or down, you could need more or less yarn).

You will also need an XL stitch holder or an extra cable with end caps for holding stitches, as this pattern is knit in 3 sections. You will also need stitch markers, and a large eye tapestry needle

Be sure to brush up on your Intarsia knitting skills prior to starting this shawl. I highly recommend this you tube video: https://youtu.be/9AJkri-qcQo
