This shawl is heavily inspired by the ‘Outlander’ series, specifically the shawl Claire wears when in Carolina (season 4).

Materials needed:
• 3 Balls of Hue + Me Yarn in the color ‘Cement’, or 375m (411 yards) of heavy, bulky weight yarn (Grade 5)
• 1 Ball of Hue + Me Yarn in the color ‘Juniper’, or 125m (137 yards) of heavy, bulky weight yarn (Grade 5)
• US 13 Needle on 32” Chord (or longer). Gauge does not matter as much as this is more of a ‘recipe’- you want a relatively firm fabric

This shawl is more of a recipe, you can even make it with worsted weight yarn if you follow the instructions on where to place the stripes! Gauge is not super important as we are not going by stitch count, but rather repeat the pattern to a certain length. Easy Peasy!

I’ve tried my best to write this pattern as beginner-friendly as i could. So if you’re used to more ‘traditional’ patterns you might be surprised that I have written out all short forms and acronyms to make it easier to read for beginners. It shouldn’t stop you from enjoying this project :).
