The hat and mitts are worked flat and seamed. The stitch pattern starts with a rib before changing to a striped clamshell pattern. The crown of the hat and the palms of the mitts are then worked in St st, before more rib at the fingers and thumb.

This pattern features in Issue 1 of Your Crochet & Knitting, which is on sale from 5th July in supermarkets, newsagents and craft stores across the UK. Find your nearest UK stockist here. Copies can also be ordered from MoreMags.
