Clamshell Cowl is inspired by the clamshell pattern, popular in Art Deco art and design in the 1920s and 30s. It is designed to coordinate with the Clamshell Beanie.

It is knitted in the round using two shades of DK yarn. It starts with k2, p2 rib before working the stranded colourwork design, and the top edge is worked in a corrugated rib pattern.

Knitting with larger needles at the lower edge and smaller needles at the top creates a cowl that reduces in circumference without the need to decrease in the pattern.

Sizes
Small (large)
67.5(82.5)cm or 26½(32½)ins in circumference x 19cm or 7½ins deep

If you are using a different yarn to the one suggested, you will need approx 140(170)m in MC and 85(100)m in CC of DK yarn.
