My Clan is that of the Lamont who have their Land in the Dunoon Area of Scotland by Loch Lomond.
I always wanted to knit a specific pattern that would represent The Clan. When I saw this wool I knew it was for this and the pattern came to me almost instantly.
These are more traditional knee high socks.

This pair of socks is thought out to be a medium weight version with a traditional scottish pattern in the unbleached and natural lambs wool colour way.

Most tartans are only shown in their brighter colour ways such as the Modern or Ancient. I thought it would be nice to show the unadulterated wool. You can of coarse choose whichever you prefer. Grey and black work well too.

All my patterns come with a chart and written instructions for all sizes.
The Traditional Dunoon Knee High Socks are toe up I do mine 2AAT with a Fleegle heel and three cuff options. The one I used is in chart and written format again for all sizes.
Sizes : (xs/sm/med/lge) 48,56,64,72 stitches
Foot circumference: 6, 7, 8, 9 inches, unstretched
I used 2.25mm needles/US 1 but that will depend on how tight or loose you knit and how snug you like your socks to fit. My gauge was 7 stitches to the inch/ 2.5 cm.
This Pattern is easy but effective and can be done by an advanced beginner. It has a simple cable. The pattern is easy to remember.
Nothing too taxing here. After all the women had to quickly knit these in the winters to keep themselves and their families warm.
