My Clan is that of the Lamont who have their Land in the Dunoon Area of Scotland by Loch Lomond.
I always wanted to knit a specific pattern that would represent The Clan. When I saw this wool I knew it was for this and the pattern came to me almost instantly.
This will be a series of knit/crochet released seperately (I am already working on the second more traditional knee high socks and a crochet tartan Blanket)

This pair of socks is thought out to be a light weight version with a hint of pattern in the weathered colour way.
Most tartans are only shown in their brighter colour ways such as the Modern or Ancient. I, however thought it would be nice also to show the working or day to day colours.

All my patterns come with a chart and written instructions for all sizes.
The Clan Lamont Weathered Socks are toe up I do mine 2AAT with a Fleegle heel and three cuff options. The one I used is in chart and written format again for all sizes.
Sizes : (xs/sm/med/lge) 48,56,64,72 stitches
Foot circumference: 6, 7, 8, 9 inches, unstretched
I used 2.25mm needles/US 1 but that will depend on how tight or loose you knit and how snug you like your socks to fit. My gauge was 7 stitches to the inch/ 2.5 cm.
This Pattern is easy but effective and can be done by an advanced beginner. It has a simple cable. The pattern is easy to remember.
