Clara Barton was the founder of the American Red Cross and a nurse during the American Civil War. She nursed soldiers on both sides of the conflict without regard to their loyalties.

The heel flap features the symbol of the American Red Cross and the front is an open cable running the length of the instep. The remainder is worked in ribbing in order to make it form-fitting.

Sample worked in Gourmet Stash Stout Sock, colourway “Clara”.

This pattern is also available as part of a kit including yarn and a coordinating notions bag, through Gourmet Stash.
