Named after a forward thinking newspaper editor, suffragette, and constant knitter who lived in Vermont. This shawl combines stockinette with stripes and texture to keep the knitting interesting!

Errata
The edging is worked as garter stitch. Knit the WS rows. (the charted directions show them as purl stitches - which is incorrect)

Yarn Notes
The yardage requirements are 428 and 432 yards for your MC and CC.
Please check your gauge! The yardage estimate includes an extra 5%. However, if your gauge is off you might need more than 1 skein for the CC. Also note that you shouldn’t leave tails more than 4-6” when breaking the yarn for stripes.
If substituting yarns please be sure you have enough to complete the shawl. Not all skeins of sock yarn will provide enough yardage.

Construction Notes
A striped shawl worked from the top down with two increase points creating a shape somewhere between a crescent and a half-circle. The waves are created using multiple yo’s which are dropped on the next row. The edging is knit on at the end finishing the shawl with no tightly bound off edge.

Notions
2 markers
tapestry needle for weaving in ends
spare DPN for working edging
