This pattern uses 3 x 50g balls Libby Summers Fine Aran for sizes Age 9 - 10, (XS, S-M, M-L, XL)

The pattern is written in the traditional way, bottom up, with the borders knitted afterwards by picking up stitches. The sleeves are set-in, and the border is an eyelet rib pattern. The sizes are quite generous.

You will need to add 4mm and 5mm needles to knit this up.

A quick and satisfying knit, the bolero is versatile. It can be worn with jeans during the day, as our model has done, or jazzed up for an evening. It looks great with an empire line dress for example. Although only a small garment, it is surprisingly good at keeping you warm. I always find that if my back and upper arms are warm, then the rest of me is fine in early Autumn, and I tend to prefer garments like this that leave my arms free and don’t flap around my waist! The 9 - 11yrs version is just adorable. My model was reluctant to put it on, but after the shoot, she asked if she could keep it as she liked the feel of it so much!
