Surviving the snowpocalypse has taught me that even Texans need some cozy slippers in their closet! This classic house slipper is perfect for a beginner looking to master some basic techniques. You’ll get some practice working in rounds while incorporating texture and a second color into your creation. The famous granny square makes this a timeless item and sturdy yarn guarantees a long wear. Whether you choose to make them for yourself or give them as a gift, the wearer is sure to love these comfy, colorful slippers.

Skill Needed: chain, double crochet, single crochet back loop only, standing double crochet, connecting pieces with whip stitch, working in joined rounds, working in rows. This pattern uses American terms.

Finished sizes: child size 10-12 US (youth size 13-2 US, small adult 5-6 US, medium adult 7-8 US, large adult size 9-11 US). Number of stitches for each size is given in parentheses: child (youth, small adult, medium adult, large adult). Some sections are separated by specific sizes. Model shown in medium adult 7-8 US size. These slippers fit the “average” foot, but the opening may not work for those with very wide feet or high arches.
