The Classic Naomi Beanie (name suggestion thanks to Tess Eghult) has been created for simplicity and style. It is an easy and quick make, and will satisfy the Mum wanting to keep her toddler/ child warm, the teen looking for a trendy beanie or the man / woman desiring a simple and classic look.

This beanie is easily able to be made in any head circumference size, as it is constructed row by row vertically. So as you add more rows, you increase the beanie’s circumference. The technique used to create this look has a very similar look to knitting and the finished beanie also has a reasonable amount of stretch to it, so it stays on the head very well.

My beanie shown in the photos was made in the gorgeous Bellissimo Merino 12 ply, in the colour Dark Grey (322). This yarn is available through Texyarns.com, and many other online and physical yarn stores. I highly recommend this yarn for its soft feel, the quality of the merino wool is very high and it is not at all itchy. It is an absolute pleasure to crochet with!

A note on this yarn: it is listed on Ravelry as a Bulky weight (size 5), however my personal wpi test for this colour found it is closer to 9 wpi, therefore more like a Heavy Worsted/ Aran/ medium weight (size 4). This information is necessary if you choose to substitute another yarn for this brand.

Yardage used:
Between 200 - 220 m (219 - 240 yds) is for the 55 cm size (Medium) which usually fits a teenager through to an adult female. This is 4 Skeins of the Bellissimo Merino 12 yarn.

Materials:
crochet hook
yarn
scissors
tapestry needle
faux fur
sewing thread
sharp needle
polyester fiberfill

Instructions are also given for creating a handmade faux fur pompom if you desire to do so.

Project Level:
This project is easy, once you get the hang of the third loop crocheting you’re good to go!
