I designed this toque after searching for a clean, classic chunky ribbed hat pattern and not finding one that included all sizes. The result is a versatile, timeless toque with a sleek finish and a comfortable fit for everyone — from babies to adults.

The hat is worked in the round from the brim up using bulky/chunky yarn. The stretchy ribbing gives it plenty of negative ease, making it both cozy and snug.

What makes this pattern stand out from the others? The crown decreases. They result in a smooth top with clean lines, that looks great either on its own or topped with a pom. This is a quick, polished knit you’ll want to make again and again — for yourself or as a gift.

This pattern suggests three yarn options to provide a perfect finish; however, any yarn of the same weight can be substituted.
