Classic Tee is a timeless scoop neck pullover with a modern twist that is sure to become a wardrobe staple. Try it on as you go for that perfect fit and length. You may also choose short, ¾, or long sleeves…or make a short sleeve one for warm weather and a long sleeve one for winter!

The sample shown used two strands of lace weight yarn but it can be worked in a sport weight held single. The neckline finish was worked with one strand of the lace weight. There are so many yarn options:

  • 2 strands of a silky lace weight,
  • 1 strand of silky lace weight with 1 strand of mohair, or
  • a single strand of a sport or light DK weight.

The neckline edges and sleeves are finished in an easy double “faux I-Cord” that adds a sophisticated touch to a super comfortable top. A lace weight yarn is recommended for the ultimate sleek neckline finish but it can be worked in heavier weight with bulkier results.

Construction is top-down, totally seamless, and with high raglan sleeves that almost look like set-in sleeves but are easier to adjust for that perfect fit. Make the sleeves and body exactly the length that you want. The adjustable fit and angled hemline makes it a flattering pullover for many body types.

RECOMMENDED YARN
You can hold 2 lace weight yarns together or use a heavier yarn (sport or light DK) held single.

Shibui Knits Lunar and Silk Cloud (or Tweed Silk Cloud), both lace weight yarns, held together as shown in the Ivory color sample. See yarn kits here.

OR

Hold single a sport or DK weight yarn that meets gauge for the body but a lace weight is still recommended for the neckline finish.

See YarnSub.com for yarn substitutions. Any yarn that meets gauge and has good drape will work. Do not knit too tightly to get gauge as you want the fabric to drape nicely.
