Knitting pattern in German and in English for a chunky cardigan in garter stitch with double folded hems and a double folded button row in a contrast color. The fit is oversized and loose, the button row creates a deep V-neck.

Structure:
The cardigan is worked top down with raglan increases, the fit is loose, the sleeves are wide and tighten at the cuffs. To prepare the V-Neck, there are additional increases along the neckline of the right and left front part every 8th row. As soon as the total amount of stitches is reached, the sleeves are separated from the body and the body will be finished in one piece. When the body has reached the required length, the hem will be knitted with 2 strand of mohair and 1 strand of fingering weight merino yarn. To make the hem thicker, the hems are knitted double. This means, after knitting a certain amount of rows in stockinette stitch, there is a row of purl stitches marking the line where the hem is folded, followed by a certain amount of rows in stockinette stitch. In the end, the stitches of the cast-off row are sewed to the stitches of the first row of the hem. The sleeves can be knitted in rounds or flat and are finished with the same doubled hems as the body. In the end, a double knitted, folded button row is attached to the front parts and the buttons are sewed on the left front part.

Available in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL.

Level of difficulty: advanced beginners to medium level of difficulty.
