About the design

• You decide how big the lace portion is, and you decide how big you want the garter border at the bottom.

Yarn recommendations

• In regards to lace, one color or lightly speckled yarn shows off lace the best.

• For a fingering weight shawl you can get a shawlette from one hank if you’re not a tight knitter. If you are, go up in needle size and you get a little more out of the yarn ;) Still, I recommend at least 150 grams of fingering weight. 200 if you choose a little thicker yarns. also always pay attention to how much munch length there is to the grams, because that is more important, more grams does not always mean more fabric. Meters/yards, however - does.
