Construction: Available in three sizes, this all over ribbed hat has a lot of ease to fit a variety of head sizes. This pattern is a basic rib pattern with attractive crown shaping.

Pattern includes full written and charted instructions.

Skill level: Advanced beginner - Intermediate
Skills needed: knitting and purling in the round; k2tog, ssk, and CDD decreases.

Size: Small (medium, large) adult
Circumference: Stretches to fit up to 21” (23”, 25”) heads.
Height: 7 ¾” (8 ½”, 9 ¼”) with brim folded; 10 ¼” (11”, 11 ¾”)
Gauge: 38 sts and 48 rows per 4” in 1x1 rib knit in the round (laying flat, unstretched).

Materials:

  • US 3 (3.25 mm) 16” circular knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge and set of DPN’s or other needles to knit a small circumference in the round.

  • 275, (325, 375) yards of fingering weight wool or wool blend yarn. Sample shown in Crave Yarn One in the Midnight Clouds (100% merino wool, 100 g, 400 yards)in the Midnight Clouds color.
