Climb is a pretty lace and cable shawl that’s perfect for breezy summer evenings. The shawl starts with a unique twist on an i-cord cast on that then becomes part of the center cable, ending with a pair of leaves at the bottom, the other ends of the i-cord also become leaves on the outer edges. With its attention to detail, it can easily dress up any outfit.

This pattern is both written and charted.

Look for a yarn that has both stitch memory and drape, so a blend will probably work out best. Use a fingering weight yarn for an airy shawl, or up to a light worsted weight for a more substantial shawl. Here’s a selection of different yarns to get you started:

Alchemy Temple
Blue Sky Alpacas Sport Weight: no stitch memory, but it’s beautiful
Brooklyn Tweed Loft
Isager Strik Alpaca 2
Koigu Premium Merino (KPM)
MadelineTosh Tosh Merino Light
MadelineTosh Tosh Sport
Rowan Felted Tweed DK
The Fibre Company Canopy Fingering

Remember to keep in mind that if your gauge is slightly looser than 16 sts/4in you’ll need more than the 550 yards of yarn.
