I designed this pattern for a dear friend of mine. I sat the skein of this beautiful wool in front of me and waiting for inspiration.

After several days this purl/knit pattern emerged and it was perfect. Once I fully designed it I realized that I had drawn on my years of being a professional geologist! These are climbing ripples! I love drawing inspiration from nature and especially from the rocks. And my dear friend is a fellow geologist too. Perfect!

This cowl is a bit of a “choose your own adventure” cowl. There are ways to make this as tall or as short as you need. It is perfect for that beautiful yarn you have just one skein of. And the pattern repeat is 30 stitches, so you can modify this to make it looser or tighter as well.
